Dear all, Please excuse my ignorance. I'm looking for a workable set of steps to install the right version of Squeezebox Server and Softsqueeze to simply listen to the same music on my PC and my Squeezebox.
I've struggled with synchronizing Softsqueeze or Squeezeplay on my PC and Squeezebox for years. It hasn't worked well for me since 7.1 when Softsqueeze was pretty reliable and actually stayed in synch. I've gone to the release version of 7.4 server and the latest Squeezeplay. I was able to get Squeezeplay to send audio I could hear on my PC when connected to squeezecenter.com but even though I WAS able to force it to connect to my local library, I head no audio from Squeezeplay when it was apparently running properly in sync with my library or streaming via SqueezeBox Server controlling my Squeezebox. I've uninstalled everything in frustration (although an old version of Softsqueeze will not uninstall). Which versions of Squeezecenter and Squeezeplay do you suggest, and can you give steps/order for installation, plus links to the right place and right files? If a registry cleanout is needed, what keys need to be deleted? I have read through the forums. I don't see if anyone has addressed my issue. I may have missed it. Please point me to the right link if I am wrong.
