Take a look at the good ol' Windows Task Manager (ctrl-shift-esc) and see if it's using lots of virtual memory. I think that info is on the performance tab, although it won't tell you which app(s) are causing the swap to disk. If the onset of this coincided with your edits to my.tt, un-doing that sounds like a very good place to start.
