Aside from people being different, so are the different physical
interfaces.

Touch interfaces (SBTouch, iPeng and Squeemote) need a different
approach than the button driven interfaces but at the same time, users
may jump between interfaces and want some consistency between them.

The expectation of a long term Squeeze user (from classic through
controller to SBRadio) will differ sgnificantly from an iPod user
entering with a Touch or Radio.

This drives the requirement to allow users to define whether tap (on
Touch) is equivalent to the 'play' or 'centre/right' button and then
define whether centre is "play" or "drill down/context" and the parallel
"+ is more" or "+ is add".

Add my vote to 'touch to play' is a playlist wrecker and I'd rather
have teh option to change 'touch' to something else..
