Duh... Use the 'Abort scan' link on the information page. I'm finding that it's easy to get the server struck in this state. All you have to do is start up the server and then shut it down again before the startup scan completes. 'Bug 15696' (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15696)
