What are you compairing? Just to be sure that your times are both taken with SS and MediaMonkey running on the same PC.... as I can see that you have a NAS.
But good question.... I have not used MediaMonkey for years so I just gave it a spin. Its initial scan took 5:15 which is the same time as a rescan in SS. I cleaned the library and did a rescan a couple of times: 1:30, 1:43 2:13 Hmm why so much faster compared to initial scan?! Personally I am currently using 7.5 embedded (SQLite) with a USB harddrive. My scan times are Scan new files (7449 of 7449) Complete 00:03:59 Discovering files (1 of 0) Complete 00:00:00 Pre-caching Artwork (605 of 605) Complete 00:01:07 The server has finished scanning your music collection. Total Time: 00:05:06 (fredag, februar 12, 2010 / 1:10 ) Which BTW are the same total time as back in 7.4 (26696) with the difference that it is now SQLite instead of mysql :-) But back in 7.3 the total time were around 8-10 minutes so there have been improvements. Oh and MediaMonkey is also using SQLite http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.php/MediaMonkey_Database_structure -- slate Main: Duet -> Beresford Caiman -> Carver A-500x -> B&W 704 Office: Duet -> Technics SU-V50 -> Stax SR84 Pro Server: Zotac IONITX-A, 4 GB, 1 TB WD EADS, Win7 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ slate's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30502 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75208 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
