Yeah, it surprised me a lot, too.

I'm using on the Touch a backup of the FLAC directory that's on my NAS,
and which is the very same directory that the SBS running on my NAS is
using.
That's "only" 16398 tracks and around 400 GB.

I have just checked with the release I have installed during the
weekend (7.5.0 - r30374, which was a bit hard to get my collection
properly scanned at first), and the database weighs around 28 MiB. It
seems fine to me.

I remember, the day before the PSU died, the web UI going from quite
okay to badly sluggish, and then to totally unresponsive in the last
hours.
Which may have been caused by the database file going bigger and bigger
as time flew. It sounds plausible to me.

The release I was using on the ReadyNAS since med february was very
reliable. So trusty that I hadn't even cared to upgrade it for weeks.
Plus, there's an all-day overnight wipe-and-rescan job programmed, so
the database file shall not have grown up from day to day.

I wonder whether the dying PSU could have caused that in some way...
