i really don't care if you think it will "never work well."  with that
expectation why would it?

besides, you're wrong, if most users with about the same number of
tracks had a 30meg DB file, and you had a 1gig file, that would be a
good place to start looking, sans AA tags or not.  (besides the avg size
would include all types of tag conditions, it would avg out anyway).  an
avg user wouldn't know that otherwise.  an info page coud point out such
large deviations.  i daresay it would have saved sebp some time, and he
knows what he's doing.

but solving this issue wouldn't be the sole point of the feature.  the
point of the feature, which many apps and operating systems have, is to
inform devs and users alike as to how things are used and set, and what
errors are being run into, as well as whats esoteric and what isn't. 
this lack of automated, aggregated feedback only hurts logitech/sbs. 
and forgive me if i give more weight to microsoft, apple et al, thinking
more of it than you do, even tho their system is "opt in" as well.
