Been trying a number of recent 7.6 nightlies on my ReadyNAS NV+ to try to address various teething issues with my new Touch - and just to play with the bleeding edge, of course. Bottom line is that the CPU usage is much higher while playing esp to the Touch and most especially with 24/96 flac files.
With my SB3 (which has moved into the TV room) 7.6 seems OK and the menu navigation is generally speaking, fine. With the Touch and the Radio (so, commonality is Squeezeplay) the navigation and loading of Artists/Albums etc. is very slow. When playing - or rather trying to play - 24/96 flacs on the Touch the CPU on the server will go to 98-100% and stay there and the Touch rebuffers continually. The profile on non-24/96 flacs was a high period for a few seconds of playback and/or menu navigation and then drops to 5-10% thereafter. Not very familiar with the code layout so before I dive in I though I would ask if the nightlies - esp 7.6 as the last 7.5.1 I tries was OK apart from not doing SQLite for scanning - carry around extra debug or logging that would normally be disabled in a release ? I tried a variety of command line options in /etc/default/squeezecenter to see if they helped but nothing. No other processes running, no transcoding etc. I tried --nodebuglog and --noinfolog in case they helped. No change. Anywhere I can look ? Anything I should do to get more useful data ? While the ReadyNAS NV+ is underpowered, 7.5 was on the whole fine. -- Peter Galbavy ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Peter Galbavy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32718 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79663 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
