For example, if I only want Albums and Artists and want to remove the rest ? - Is it possible for third party developers to hook into this context menu and add their own items in similar fashion as that's possible in the other context menus ? - Will the new context menu replace the existing "Settings/Home Menu" functionality or should it just be seen as another way to accomplish the same thing ?
If we think about the "kids room scenario", where you want a simplified interface and want to make sure they can't access anything that can reconfigure stuff, it feels like the "Restore Home Menu items" item at the bottom is too easy to access. I understand that it needs to be somewhere but maybe it should be hidden a bit more ? Maybe it's time for a long left hold action when you are standing in the home menu to access a "hidden" menu where you can enabled removed home menu items ? bklaas;564041 Wrote: > > The items in My Apps do not have support for the context menu > customization yet, but I plan on tackling that specific issue next > week, as those items are clearly ones that users will want to > add/remove frequently. > I don't think anything regarding this is something a specific user will change frequently, it feels like a one time configuration for each device to me. However, I suppose there are more users that might want to promote something under "My Apps" to the home menu than something under "My Music". bklaas;564041 Wrote: > > Someday I'd like to be able to add any arbitrary "slim browse" item > (e.g., My Music->Albums->Some Album, Napster->My Library->Some Napster > album, Pandora->My Stations->Some Station, Facebook->News Feed) to the > home menu, but that's a tougher problem and much further on the > horizon.
