I am using fw 54 and my weekday alarm is at 6.45am and it works every day. The weekend alarm is on the half hour and it has worked OK as well.
I think it is unlikely to be fw related - the chosen "alarm sound" can affect whether an alarm plays or not. What alarm sound do you use ? Are you using a local SBS or mysb.com ?
