Hi all, I'm running SqueezePlay 7.6 on Ubuntu 9.10 (with PulseAudio removed) and have discovered an oddity. I normally leave SqueezePlay running the whole time, but when I go to use the system first thing on a morning the audio doesn't work properly. With the user interface effects turned on, pressing a menu item normally produces the usual 'b-leep' sound. After being left idle overnight, pressing a menu item makes no sound at all at first, then a few seconds later there is a quiet, slightly distorted attempt to play the sound effect. Playing music is similarly delayed and distorted.
Quitting SqueezePlay and reloading it fixes the problem instantly, but that's not particularly useful if I want to use the alarm functions, for example. Because I've found no way of quickly replicating the problem I imagine this may be quite a longwinded troubleshooting process, so any pointers as to a possible cause would be very much appreciated. I'm currently running v7.6.0-9103 and have tried recompiling, removing PulseAudio entirely from Ubuntu (that's why it's not present now - previously I simply commented out the pulse.conf line in /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf and had the same issue), and I've left the system idle for up to 4 hours and the problem doesn't appear. I'm going to try leaving the system idle through the day today too, trying for around 6 hours and see if the problem reoccurs. I hope someone out there has an idea of where the problem might lie! -- roobarb! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ roobarb!'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=40187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81907 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
