Here is my latest experience .

Added an compilation album to my collection, by a mistake it had not
spotted that every file had a stray "dicnumber" tag set to different
values.

So I ended up with 15 albums instead of one, that was perfectly
understandable.

I corrected the tag and did a scan for new and changed.

No difference i still had albums everywhere.

I total clear and rescan fixed it naturally, but should this really be
needed ? nowadays is this not being worked on with tiny SBS in mind ?
Clear and rescan must be really painfull on the Touch.

Is there a worked on bug for this kind of behavior ? I won't add my own
bug as nobody cleans in bugzilla anymore there is 15 bug's for every
popular issue it seems ?

The goal must be however you add change files you must end up with the
"same" dB as if you did a total clear and rescan, this can not be
impossible as it is the same collection ?

However the total scan time is faster than ever:

Total Tracks: 26,691
