I'd actually drop the net.* logging at debug level and just stick with
AlarmSnooze at debug. The reason for this is exactly what you just saw,
the messages file gets rotated too quickly when lots of verbose stuff is
being written to it.

There's some possibility that the station is actually down, since you
just saw it to be dead. Just as a test, you might try one of the
"Natural Sounds" as your alarm tone to see if that decreases the
frequency of the fallback alarm happening.
