I have always failed to the on my machine i do start from command line
all the time after a reinstall but i can not make the options to work
?

This is how i usually start it after a reinstall

[r...@hal ~]# service squeezeboxserver start

Where her should i put in the "--d_startup" options ?

I have to as it is a couple of years old bug with the rpm on my OS
where the restart command does not work only the start and stop
command, this is a known bug that nobody cares to fix.

Btw it's still broken :) and yes even bitrate limiting is still broken
so it is an actual change in SBS that does this, as it has worked
perfectly before .

I have seen worying signs that perl 5.8.8 compatibility is a problem in
some other tread a person had his scanner crash all the time in 7.5.2
untill he upgraded perl to 5.10 ?

So any official word on whether perl 5.8.8 is till supported ?
