I wanted to try this after my Radio (Firmware: 7.5.3-r9283) had
restarted each time I selected the BBC iPlayer Live Radio 3 HD
channel.
I have also changed my WiFi Access Point (AP, which connects the Radio)
from a wireless to wired connection after several drop outs (bad WiFi
connection, no issue with Logitech/Squeezebox).
Radio seems much 'snappier' to buffer and play the channels. No restart
after selecting R3 HD Live stream (this stream does not report the
bitrate when looking at 'More Info'?). Bit rate for all BBC channels is
reported as AAC 128K CBR (some local radio play it agains are MP3). I
thought R3 standard was 192K?
The buffer time seems much shorter, often getting to 99% in 1 or 2
steps, rather than 4 or 5 steps. Then a short (1 to 2 seconds) pause
and the stream sound starts.
I have much more confidence skipping around the BBC channels now on the
Radio, trying Listen Again streams at random and switching back and
fore.
How can I actually check that I am using the new rtmp code? I loaded
the files using WinSCP. Replaced Rtmp.lua and copied rtmp.so (which was
not on the Radio). Played something from the SBS (Windows Home Server,
Version: 7.5.3 - r31792 @ Fri Jan 21 02:35:13 PST 2011), then restarted
the Radio by holding the Power button, then again to switch on.
I was not sure what you meant by 'sync'? and reboot the radio?
I was going to test using mysqueezebox.com streaming, but will have to
dig around to find out how to switch the Radio from SBS.
So far, so good. Very stable and quick for me. Some of the quickness
may be my switch of the AP from WiFi to wired connection. The Radio
itself has always (only had it a week) been on the wireless
connection.
Cheers,
Peter.
For info. I also have Squeezebox Classic and Receiver (Duet).
I also have Napster (WMA 128K), Radioio Audiophile (MP3 192K) and
Premium Spotify (Ogg 320K) subscriptions so I am maxed out with music
at the moment. I can't decide which one to keep....
