Is the automatic scanning supposed to be able to handle the scenario
where you do a lot of changes in your library over a period of a few
minutes ?
As I've understood, the following can happen:
1. Track1 is modified in a tag editor
2. File system notifications are disabled by auto scanner
3. Scanning of Track1 starts
4. Track2 is modified in a tag editor
5. Scanning of Track1 finished
6. File system notifications are enabled by auto scanner
I've seen this happen in my library when experimenting with the new
third party scanner API.
In my setup this seems to result in that the Track2 change is never
detected automatically because it's changed during the period where
file system notifications have been disabled. I'm using Ubuntu Linux if
that matters.
Is it intentional that in this scenario I'll have to do a manual
"Rescan of new and changed files" after I've finished the tag editing
?
I suspect the same thing can also happen if I copy multiple albums into
my library since the scanning might start before all files have been
copied so some files are copied while the file system notifications are
disabled.
