I've wondered how well that scenario would be handled. But why would notifications be disabled while doing an auto-rescan of some file(s)? Wouldn't you have to allow any additional notifications to come in and be queued for later processing?
How about what happens on a slow system when a lot of files are changed, auto-rescanning kicks in, and then the user launches a manual scan before they're all processed?
