Good progress had been made in the past two weeks.
The current plan is that the onebrowser branch -will- be included in
7.6. There are few outstanding items and it introduces a degree of risk
that may be more than we are prepared to accept in 7.6.
>From today, the nightly builds of SbS 7.6 are being built from the
onebrowser branch. The Squeezebox Touch build (TinySC) will follow
shortly.
We may have to revisit this decision if we cannot resolve the remaining
issues or significant problems arise during testing. There are
significant advantages in going ahead with onebrowser - which is why it
was started in the first place.
Functionality missing or significantly different:
- Web-UI
- Skins. Only the Default and Classic skins will be supported.
Other skins could be made available as third-party plugins, if a
suitable maintainer would step forward..
- Mixers. No support for Play-Hold (ip3k, SP) or *M* (Web)
functionality. This means that MusicIP and third-party plugins that
rely on this functionality are somewhat hampered. See separate thread
on this topic.
