I hear you, too. I have quite a few playlists, but most of them created since I adopted the unaccented-only approach to folder/file naming, so there was no issue with those. For the older ones I don't remember whether I changed the paths manually or used a script with the 'tr' operator. All my playlists were pretty much in one place, but I can see how it would be a much bigger job for you, as your playlists are more spread around and you use the exact same playlists for completely different devices.
