Well, it's certainly there to appreciate, and I like it. It's nice when
a new & changed scan to add half a dozen albums takes less than a
minute, and (if I've recently done a scan, which probably keeps the
file system in an OS cache) as little as 12 seconds.

The new DB engine does play a significant part in the speedup. Having
the database in memory and not having to communicate with a separate DB
server is probably the main reason for the scanning speed increase.
