I tried in two ways a) with ALBUMARTIST Set (to Bing Crosby) b) with ALBUMARTIST left blank No difference, so not quite sure what version I sent to You.
I use mp3tag for tagging and it supports ALBUMARTIST. I'm the One with 240.000 mp3 , many of them bought at amazon and tags checked.
