Well, don't know how to say it ... I couldn't AGREE MORE with Logitech management ... Squeezebox products are targetting a wide audience, where most customers will use Windows or OSX. The users ready to mess with Linux Desktop or NAS are a small minority. What's a NAS, but a small computer with poor performance, poor user interface, and that's right usually lower price ? I would never advice average user, or non geek user, to use a NAS ... If development team is not CONVINCED that management is ABSOLUTELY and COMPLETELY RIGHT concerning this point ... this is a BIG problem ... I would even say that if it were necessary to drop Linux support to get acceptable stability for Windows or OSX, if I were a Logitech manager, I would not hesitate ... (Of course I do think stability is possible to achieve without doing that) Note that I develop professional softwares far more complex than SBS or LMS. I use big servers, Linux as well as Windows, when it is professionaly needed. I would certainly never loose my time with that for Squeezeboxes ... -- nicolas75 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ nicolas75's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15823 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=89143 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
