Well, if you're watching a bug correction or an enhancement request,
the release number may be meaningful.

For example, I knew from the automatic comment that 'bug 16343'
(http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16343) had been corrected
in 'r33230'
(http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim?view=revision&revision=33230[/url) for
the 7.6 branch.

Any nightly build with a revision number above r33230 should have that
patch included.

Another interesting thing with the revision numbers and nightly builds
is to watch how many commits are done to the code on Saturdays and
Sundays.
You'd bet it's raining every weekend in Massachusetts and Switzerland.
