That's up to you. No, you don't have to update every day. However, if
you're filing bug reports or posting to the forum with questions or
problems, you should be running the most recent nightly. Otherwise the
behavior may have changed or the problem fixed by the time you report
it.

If you're running a nightly beta because someone has suggested you do
so to fix a problem then I would say you probably don't want to update
every day. Doing so only increases the chances that you're going to end
up running a clunker with some nasty bug that renders your Squeezebox
system unusable. This is fairly rare, but does happen every once in a
while. Even then, if you keep the older versions on hand, you can
always go back to a working version.

It's roughly the number of revisions between the two versions.
Revisions, though, can vary quite a bit in their scope. They could be
anything from fixing a one-letter typo to the checkin of months worth
