+1 keep choosen parts of 7.7.1 that worked .

With limited resources you can't work on video scanning bugs anymore ?
It starts to be bugs in bugzilla about certain players and tv's that
don,t work with lms.
Given that the so called dlna "standard" is what it is, this is endless
work there will always be something that don't play nice with lms a
total waste of time for the devs.

And then we have the comlete jungle of different video standards
defacto standards and weird formats that is used anyway ? there seems
to be no tagging or losely agreed metadata . so the database aproach as
it is realised for music can not easilly be aplied for video, let it be
someone elses headache :)

If you want to use your squeezebox music to a dlna player there is the
whitebear third party app that integrates with sbs/lms and is well
tested and seems to work ( acording to it's dev and userbase ).

And for video and picture content you can simply run another server
software ( you can do that for music too ), I'll bet that mediatomb or
any other dlna server have much more dev resources than logitechs
squeezebox team wich seems to be needed if you want to be on top on
that game.

Developing for a limited set of players with known properties seems
"easy" if you compare ;)
Having controll of both ends you can do what you want.

If logitech are trying the revive squeezebox again use the resources
where it makes sense in a squeezebox perspective !
