I've had this issue with remote players too for years and years. I gave up and paid the extra to get my own fixed ip. What the developers don't seem able to grasp is that they might actually sell more hardware if people could use it remotely. They also don't seem able to grasp that for people in the developing world (sad to admit it but increasingly the UK feels like that) WAN ip addresses do change daily or even more frequently - certainly my 'non-fixed' line can. Imagine asking a non-nerd to ping the name to extract the ip, then reconfigure the player with the new ip. You end up doing what everyone else does and buy an iPod - or stump up for the fixed ip. As for priorities, is sorting Facebook and Twitter and all these other gimmicks really more important than sorting the basics?
