Developers don't sell hardware. Maybe if you convinced a *marketing*
guy that this had some merit then you'd one day see the feature. But as
we've all heard, Logitech gave up on marketing the Squeezebox quite a
while ago.

What percentage of users do you thing want to connect a hardware
Squeezebox remotely to their networks? I'd venture that it's very
small. And then what percentage of those don't have relatively stable
IP addresses? Even if it did work more easily, it's a serious security
risk to just open up your network to this traffic without using either
a VPN or SSL. So the next thing people would insist upon would be the
ability to establish a secure connection from SqueezePlay.
