I know this is an age old problem, but I'm 95% certain that it was
working recently (meaning within the past year in LMS 7.8). When I would
update the cover for an album, I could get a new & changed scan to pick
up the new artwork (cover.jpg in the album folder) by simply bumping the
mtime on the audio files, forcing the album to be rescanned. Lately,
though, this hasn't been the case.
Did something change recently, perhaps to the image caching code, to
break this? Needless to say, this was convenient. Especially so for
anyone with a slower server where a full scan may take hours.
Here's the tail end of the log following the new & changed scan. I don't
see any mention of artwork scanning. Something does change, since after
the scan I see the gray placeholder on the albuminfo page instead of the
old cover. But obviously something isn't working correctly.
