I telnet-ed directly into a PC running 7.8 and everything seems fine just as you posted but when I telnet into my vortexbox running 7.8 from my PC I get the same odd behavior. This means my AMX gear or my code isn't at fault so me now thinks it's something in either the latest VB 2.3 beta build or maybe my old VB has insufficient memory for the current VB build. I'll investigate further on the other side.
