Just in case it's useful, I use 7.8 every day with good results. While I haven't specifically been validating against bugs.slimdevices.com, I make heavy use of the following plugins: CustomBrowse, CustomScan, SQL Playlists, Dynamic Playlists, Music & Artist Information, Multi Library, Database Query, YouTube, and Trackstat. I install from the readyNas x86 package.
I am pleased to say everything has run smoothly, and I have not noticed anything that is not production-ready.
