OK. But I still think it could be worthwhile to fix the versioning scheme that has been broken since 7.0 :)
Can you remind me what is broken? I think the problem was simply that devs didn't update their repositories, thus many plugins were no longer available when a version number in LMS was bumped. We'd have to fix those devs IIRC :-).
