More clearly: Any album where a contributor's role is as an artist of any kind. I expect to see exactly the same thing under Album Artists as under All Artists.
No need to file a bug report - unless what I just committed is utterly wrong. Behaviour now is similar/identical to how Genre filtering on the album level works. It's turned off by default, with a pref to enable filtering by role for those who prefer it that way (probably me?).
