Hi Please forgive a very n00b question.
I am trying out DSD on LMS 7.9 and SB Touch with an external DacMagic DAC (quite elderly and pre-DSD). I am able to get my DSF files playing without a problem (EDO, USB) but I don't understand what is happening 'under the covers'. The state of the 'Enable DSD-over PCM' option makes no difference to the sound output and the DAC shows 44.1 sample rate at all times. Is this correct? Will a great deal of resolution not be lost at this low sample rate? If you can aid my understanding or point me to a learning resource, I would be very grateful.
