Is it possible I've crossed some threshold in terms of the library size?
Who knows? Did you check your server.log file?
Your collection certainly is on the bigger end. But there's no known
threshold. What's your server machine's specs? What 3rd party plugins
are you using?
Another thing that's happening is that "random song" will just quit. The
server will still be running, and i can restart from the player...but it
won't just run forever anymore. Maybe the ability to generate the random
playlist is being thwarted by the sheer volume. I don't know. The
Random play certainly is not easy on large collections, as it would
create a list of all tracks in memory to keep track of what has been
played and what not...
quitting seems most common during the nightly rescan for new and changed
music.
Then please check scanner.log, too.
