As _Aria _stated you are better off going for a format that has better compatiablity. Every windows user can open zips and cabs but not 7-zip. If you switch to 7-Zip you are forcing people to install a new program be it 7-zip or Winrar. I'd only recommend 7-Zip if you are going to release the betas as self extracting archives.
