It's important to get your blood moving almost every day even if you are injured. Sam recently went through surgery on his  jaw and was bed-ridden for over a week. Even though he couldn't run or go to the gym, he still made sure that he took a walk everyday. It doesn't need to be a 10 mile walk, just a short walk to the food store or with your dog is enough to get your heart rate up and your blood flowing. Once you are feeling better and have more energy, push yourself to walk a little longer each time. Exercise of any kind speeds the process of recovery and allows your body to heal faster. Push yourself to move around even when you're feeling like you can't. It will benefit you in the long run.

I would add that before beginning the walk take at least 2 glasses of tepid water. This would help you sweat out, opening your pores. When you return, bore into a fresh fruit of any kind.Should this be in the morning let the fruit fill the stomach and if it is in the evening it can serve as the main meal or after your vegetables.
