I think this can be broken down into 2 ideas or ways of thinking. One you have to memories the way, for example hotkeys. The other you can just look at something and know what it does and click it, ie icons. Icons can also have pop ups that explain what they do. Icons all great for the learner but wastes space and time for the advanced user which is why most programs have both options. Perhaps we could have a way in the options to turn off the icons for people that want more space and are advanced users?
I have become very addicted lately to mouse gestures; Easystroke. I know that Blender had them in the past (does 2.5?). Maybe it is time to expand them and add a few more? Just another idea and really about the same as hotkeys but with the mouse hand and not the keyboard hand. -- Douglas E Knapp Creative Commons Film Group, Helping people make open source movies with open source software! http://douglas.bespin.org/CommonsFilmGroup/phpBB3/index.php Massage in Gelsenkirchen-Buer: http://douglas.bespin.org/tcm/ztab1.htm Please link to me and trade links with me!
