Hi, Here are the notes from Tuesday's Blender 2.8 planning meeting (and sorry for the delay :| ).
= Last week reports = * Campbell: Worked on facemaps, merged basic facemap support into to 2.8, proposed https://developer.blender.org/T51675 - but now working on widget Py API (got facemap working in 2.8x http://members.iinet.net.au/~ideasman42/random/facemap_28.ogv - but Ton prefers it works differently). Details: http://download.blender.org/ftp/ideasman42/donelist/2017.html#week-224-may-29 * Clément: Mainly did optimizations and prepared terrain for Probes, also improved SSAO sampling of clay (details: https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Hypersomniac/Foundation/2017#Week_25:_29th_-_4th_June). * Dalai: Wrapped up the core of dupli objects, implemented append, master Cycles baking bugfixing, blog post and documentation writing, grease pencil meeting, and overall cleanups (details: https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Dfelinto/Foundation17#Week_5_.28June_2nd.29). * Luca: Did Eevee hair implementation with nodes, and support for all lamp types (but it broke with workspaces, needs investigation before going into 2.8 branch). * Sergey: Cleanup and optimization for depsgraph, now we don't have any known speed regressions on new deg anymore (and have some scenes running much faster), worked on duplis for Cycles (details: https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Nazg-gul/Foundation/2017#Week_287:_29th_May_-_4th_June). * Bastien: Finished reviewing /tweaking workspace, which is now in master (details: https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Mont29/Foundation/2017#Week_194_-_05.2F27_to_06.2F02). Workspace merge is mostly OK, some glitches and few crashes to investigate and fix though. = This week’s plan = General TODO: investigate multi window issue with clay/eevee/... new engines (Dalai volunteered). * Campbell: Keep working on Python widget API. * Clément: Finish probe quickly (like on Tuesday/Wednesday), then either try something for indirect lighting or work on everything uniform. * Dalai: Finish Cycles dupli objects (or rather, review Sergey's work on it), investigate multi-window issues (clay/Eevee), render_to_image/render_to_view, and start to focus on usability, polish and finish up viewport mockups and designs. If time allows, I would like to stress test workspaces too, at least see if I can fix the crashes on the unittests. * Luca: Some tracker work, likely help Sergey with some depsgraph work... Also working on new cache/particles proposal and some new cloth documentation. * Sergey: Finish the cycles dupli / genetric API for iteratotrs / integration parts of deg into render engines.
