I played a couple of soloturns with three dummy players of Manager. The game is playable by three to six players. But in order to shine I think the best number will be 4.
It is an old economic game from hexagames. before the name eurogame existed. It has some similarities with current eurogames as you will notice on the rules summary by heart after one read through and 3 rounds played The rules were pretty easy and there is a lot going on. all players start with 4 stock in a company that they choose. that's all they start with a round consists of 4 actions. Each round a company produces goods. ACTION 1 First you determine a price to sell those goods. You do this with a nifty chart. then people make their prices known. (between 100 and 20.000) the lowest price will sell for sure. the second lowest will only sell if the amount is less than a thousand higher than the lowest the third lowest will sell if the asking price is less than a thousand highere than the second lowest... they receive the money from the market (bank) ACTION 2 After that they have to pay the workers 5000 If they don't have enough money they have to sell shares after the new value is determined ACTION 3 at the shares board. the new value of the shares is adjusted. the share with the lowest price for his goods will remain the same (starting position is value 1000 ) the share that sells second lowest will gain 1 position the share that sells third lowest will gain 2 position .... with a maximum of three gain the companies that don't sell at all will drop one spot. ACTION 4 Here you can buy stock (also from other players) at the current value Or buy a machine. a machine has a fixed price of 5000. each machine in your company will allow you to pay 500 less of the fixed 5000 cost for workers.
