I played a ton of games this weekend. On Friday we had our usual game day and played a few games of Pandemic, Quarto, and, to top the evening off, a full game of Age of Empires. I have mixed feelings on Pandemic, I think it is a pretty wonderful game, but suffers from perhaps too much group think. Age of Empires is a great game, but, frankly, I would just rather be playing either Struggle of Empires or Caylus.
A lax workload on Sunday brought another game day around as well. This time we played Teuber's Lowenhaurz (sorry for the awful spelling error) and a full 6 player game of Wallace's Liberte. I love Lowen. I think the design is sharp and would take it any day over Catan. Liberte is another terrific game from Wallace but is perhaps the most opaque of his designs. Of the six who played, most had played a Wallace title before and this game defiantly threw even the most savvy for a loop. We also drew countries for our semester long diplomacy game (1 turn a week). Everyone was pretty excited and getting it up and running; looks like I'll be Italy for the 2nd time in a row. Not a terrible fate; I've brought home victories before, but it will certainly be a hard road ahead. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "BGG Down" group.
