If we count Thursday as "the weekend," then this was a full one. I played Cosmic Encounter, 2 x Ca$h'n'Gun$, and Citadels with a group of friends on Thursday. I'm still waiting to love CE - I think it is a matter of playing a 4-5 player game with actual gamers.
Yesterday I played my first game of Leonardo Da Vinci (which I got super-cheap online) and my fourth game of Stone Age. I am hard pressed to decide which was better. My gut tells me that Stone Age is a better game, but I quite enjoyed Leonardo Da Vinci. I think the rulebook is a little unclear about what happens the last two "pure research" turns - we decided that the turns happen exactly as the first 7 but you arent allowed to place any workers in the city. Of course, BGG was down by the time we started playing, so I couldn't look up / ask a rules question there. Luckily, after the game, I was able to find the official FAQ in English on the Da Vinci Games site. I understand now how the "pure research" turns are supposed to work but I'm not sure I understand why. I guess it just forces you to time things out so that you can attempt all three inventions that are requested at the end of turn 7. So, anyway, yes, I think I'll go with Stone Age as the best game I played this weekend with Leonardo Da Vinci a close second. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "BGG Down" group.
