Quite a few people call it Goa lite (or as I put it, Goa for people
that hate Goa). It's kind of a tech driven economic engine. You are
trying to increase your purchasing power, but at the same time, you
are trying to complete a victory point machine (in this case a
victorian sanitorium garden). Your tech tree allows you to increase
your spending power, improve the value of "wild card improvements" or
increase your revenue from production. There are a lot of fantastic
mechanics in this game including how the start player is selected,
making choices more or less valuable, preventing runaway leaders.
They are all done so well. The real clincher here is that the game is
fantastically lavish. You get high quality plastic gemstones (that
look like gems, not plastic poop), very high quality plastic coins, a
double layer board with insets to hold tokens, fantastically detailed
tokens for the players and quality cardboard components for building
your sanitorium. The game is a beast to setup and put away, but the
game play is very compelling and tense. I think the game is
absolutely fantastic.

GG tips greatly appreciated...I'll be here all week...
