Neuland has a turn mechanism very similiar to Glen More - if you jump ahead by taking a lot of actions in a row, other players get a chance to do a lot before it's your turn again. Thebes uses this also.
Caylus (and Caylus Magna Carta) have you buying buildings to generate resources to convert into points, which is a*bit* like GM. None of these games are the least bit Scottish, though.
