Play the thrifting game (look up the Ancient and Loyal Order of
Thrifters when BGG comes back up).

Try your hand at print-and-play. Some truly great games available, at
very low cost. Look up To The Last Man, Zombie In My Pocket, Bindle
Rails, Dungeon of D, or any number of other great options.

Or just go buy Forbidden Island -- a 50% off coupon at Borders or B&N
will net you that game for under $10.

On the Forbidden Island note, I have no idea how they made such a
great and well produced game for that price. Metal tin, very thick
tiles, good cards, wooden pawns, and great artifact tokens all for a
$16 price point -- just insane.
