Like has already been stated there was an update - it's the very first post of this thread...
The difference though is it's direct contact from one of the actual people soing the physical, and necessary, work. It's already been sated by Aldie and others that they in no way planned the downtime to be so long & have been working all hours through all sorts of unforseeable problems. A little patience can go a long way... BGG doesn't have the budget to have 100 hands on deck to do server maintenance & offer the forums at no obligated cost.
