Mines are revenue generators secondarily; timbers are next-to-useless beyond their function as blockers. -Winning the starting set with bids of ~1/2 your starting capital is about right; expect others to win shares of your companies for around the same price, or slightly less -The first red share is perhaps worth more than 1/2 because you get first action, the second red share is perhaps worth more than 1/2 to every player who did not win the first red share -If the third red share is pulled out before it has even operated, the first two shares were next to worthless, and those players have likely lost the game -Managing your priority in the round is key; this is the primary purpose of Development actions -When in doubt or cash-strapped, null action. -With exceptions around priority, Stock > Track > Development
