I don't think there's anything wrong with the ratings. Think of them as relative to each other. Additionally, you should expect most ratings to be clustered between 6-9 merely because we tend to play games that we're interested in. I'm not going to go out and buy a game that I don't think I'm going to like and I tend to play with other gamers with similar interests. Besides, nobody says you need to buy games based on top ratings in the first place. If you don't like the ratings the best way to make informed choices based on them is to analyze by Geekbuddy -- especially if they leave comments on each game.
