No one said anything about a rule...it's called common decency. If all you 
do in life is complain, then you're an ungrateful jerk. If you thank people 
for the good, and never complain about the bad, you're a saint. If you 
thank people but also complain, then you're normal. Feel free to disagree, 
but just clarify straight out if you're opinion is that it's perfectly fine 
to only complain about things, without ever showing appreciation.
