(not sure if my original message made it...) I had the same problem with this little game and used...*sticky tack* - it's small (therefore easy to fit in any game box--I put it in a small craft baggie) - it works for any hard to lift components (especially out of little Plano storage compartments) - it won't damage your components since it's not sticky, but just tacky. I've never had it rip a component or lift the color off.
