"Friend", right. :P I think that the mod will make an extension considering this outage started later and is much longer than anticipated, but I would tell you friend to be ready to GM him on BGG as soon as it is back up to explain the situation.
Let your friend know they can bookmark the link they receive and it will always work for future use. Also, I have to wag my finger a bit for waiting until the last day.
